I found these at Scape flea yesterday!!! 3 for $10! Mad excited, dirt cheap of course must buy. The boyfriend helped chose the colour, very American flag themed. I'm loving the glitter jellyish polish, thinking of doing some layering. Grow nails, grow!! Check out the swatches I found online Ring in the Red Blue Hawaiian Snow Globe ALL SO PRETTY! I've tested the colours on my nails and I am loving the BRUSH. Easy to hold, easy to apply. The polish is smooth and one smooth coat from the brush is sufficient to cover the entire index finger. RIVETING WAIT FOR ME! I will buy you. Sunday, April 29, 2012 | 4:07 pm | 0 comments
Been watching this lately, finished the last episode yesterday. Exhilarating and inspiring series. It's a lesson about love, forgiveness, optimism and having the courage to pursue your dreams. The songs are really cute, heartwarming and some are just plain heartbreaking. But all of them are so lovely and soulful. Check them out below! The lyrics are amazing. Exams are OVER!! Hello sushi!!! Finally! Leisure reading materials from the library! A little chick flicks and classics for the wounded exam soul. Then it's DIM SUM with my favourite school girls at Crystal Jade. Har Kau is my favourite dish! XO Seafood Fried Rice is damn good. It was a good and satisfying meal, best of all, it marks the end of our Year 1. Hello HOLIDAYS! I'm here to embrace you, in full force. Watch out ;) Friday, April 27, 2012 | 3:28 pm | 0 comments
The Makeup Store Nail Polish in Annelie I won this in the Cosmo March Beauty Grand Prix Challenge!!!! Super lucky heehee, it's a pretty nude colour that's completely work appropriate, so I can still get my fix of nail polish while at work. I love that the nude isn't your average beige nude, it has a hint of brown and a hint of grey inside. It's an amazing colour that grows on you. The best thing about this is I can easily bling it up!
So many ideas!! I'm still waiting for my nails to grow to a more even length, so keep a look out for this space! I]m definitely trying out some fancy nail art soon! Thursday, April 26, 2012 | 11:25 am | 0 comments
Of what?! Pizza?? NOOOOOO! It's..... American Pie Reunion!! Check out your favourite characters, all grown up. I wouldn't say this is a must-watch movie, unless of course you have grown up watching the tv series. I, for one haven't watch it before so this is the first time I'm actually seeing it. It's a comedy, through and through. So don't think too hard, just sit back and laugh. I haven't watched a comedy in ages, since Mr Bean returned to the silver screen as Johnny English! Though I must say American Reunion is giving Johnny English a run for his money. This has got to be the biggest prank of the year. HAHAHA! Laughed like mad when I realized what Stifler had done. Incidentally, I find his name rather comical. Seriously? Who names their child Stifler?! Of course it's a grand reunion and everything ends happily ever after. Moving beyond the comedy factor, American Reunion is a classic movie about friends who grew up together and are now embracing adult life. It's a show about growing up and friendship and a whole lotta laughter. I guess, if you have friends whom you still kept in contact with during high school or something, you'll enjoy this film. It brings back the fond memories of school days, of crazy fun with your friends but it also jolts you awake. The whole growing up issues, how are you gonna deal with friends who are continually stuck in the past unable to accept the reality that everyone has moved on. Overall, if you need a good laugh, go watch this. It'll definitely give your facial muscles a good workout with all that laughter. :) Saturday, April 21, 2012 | 10:41 am | 0 comments
Before this village style restaurant close down forever, I've decided to make a trip there for some breakfast. They serve dim sum breakfast from 9am to 4pm.
I know hahahaha kinda oxymoronic again but that's what the sign said.
Sunday morning dim sum breakfast with the family, idyllic or what ^^
Walked in from the other secret park entrance LOL
Only the people who stay near the area knows about it hehh..
Okay there you go, very woodsy signboard..
Everyone is walking like a bullet train!
While everyone is busy poring over the menu, I took a walk snapping some pictures.
This is the indoor dining area, actually it's pretty small.
By the way, the waitress was super rude. Her face black like thunderstorm, the whole vibe she gives off is a get lost don't make me work attitude. Good thing I was pretty high from photo-taking, else I would be sorely put off by her crappy attitude. I mean, we all have our good and bad days, but since you're in the service industry you just gotta suck it up and smile. Be professional and keep the bad mood at home.
This is the alfresco dining area, but the morning sun was too damn hot for us to do any idyllic alfresco dining. Unless you have a burning desire to be baked alive. Pun intended.
This area is beside the alfresco dining area. No idea what is it for, probably it'll be bustling by night time.
This is just an area segregating the different dining areas. I have no idea why they have Japanese food here it's a bit strange. There's also an air-conditioned room beside the place where we had our dim sum.
This is behind our dining area, which is also the area you'll see if you pass by on the MRT.
People fish here, but I wonder if there're really fishes inside.
Dim sum!! After the looooong walk in, I'm absolutely starving.
Century Egg Porridge!
Can't say it's awesome, but it's not too bad either. The only thing is they kept all the porridge condiments in some secret corner, have to ask for it then they'll supply. I tried looking around the counter for it by myself and got death-stared by the above mentioned stone faced waitress.
Char Siew Bun!
I don't like buns, so I didn't try this, but brother said it's pretty yummy. So I guess this is one dish you can look forward to trying out huh..
Chicken Feet
Ughh I don't eat them too, brother said they're yummy but nothing special.
Siew Mai
Only 3, didn't manage to eat one too, it's gone by the time I wanted to try it.
Apparently, it tastes like those frozen dim sum packets you purchase from supermarkets.
Disappointed to the max. Slightly better than Har Kau though, Mum had those last time and she say the skin and prawn were totally separated the minute she picked them up. Utterly fail. I might as well buy my own at the supermarket and steam it. Should taste better and cost cheaper.
Pork Ribs
Good stuff, pretty delicious. Soft and tender and flavourful.
Saving the best for the last, Prawn Rolls
These are served fresh from the wok, crispy tofu skin packed full of shrimp paste.
Good stuff! Though it can get a tad oily, but whatever, I'm not eating alot too haha!
Hmm my conclusion, I guess it's a novelty if you wanna try something new. They do have some pretty scenery but the weather was too hot for me to enjoy anything leisurely. The food was so-so, nothing to rave about. We even ordered a 荷叶饭, I think it wasn't supposed to be glutinous rice but they cooked this dish with glutinous rice. Worst of all, it wasn't totally cooked. The rice was too tough.
So I guess not all dishes are delicious, and while the ones that passed out picky tastebuds, we concluded that it's one of those try-once-only kinda dishes. Definitely won't be craving for it.
But we might go back to take a walk in there. It's really beautiful inside.
:)

I have a dream catcher!!! I hang it at the foot of my bed though, mostly because I'm just afraid the feathers will drift off and fall into my mouth while I sleep. =X Check out the post I wrote some time back about my awesome dream catcher here Labels: Apr2012, BucketList Thursday, April 19, 2012 | 10:29 am | 0 comments
Cargo pants. They're for men right. I mean, of course women can wear them but they're tricky. They don't exactly help you show off your womanly curves. But they always look soooo comfortable. As much as we love to wear fitting clothing, sometimes we just need to breathe! Cargo pants seems to be just the thing! But it's just not flattering, and women.. I think it's a safe bet to say most of the time, we'll rather not breathe then look like we wore a potato sack out. That being said, I have to admit, Hollywood sometimes gives us these misconceptions that ANYONE CAN LOOK GORGEOUS IN CARGO PANTS. Case in point.. Jennifer Lawrence Miss Lawrence wore cargo pants in The Hunger Games and looks simply gorgeous. It didn't take away her curves but seemed to enhance it further. Evangeline Lilly In Lost, the ever pretty Evangeline Lilly wore cargo pants. But SOMEHOW, her pants always managed to cup her butt in that absolutely fitting manner and IT IS VERY FLATTERING. Kelly Monaco on the right also demonstrates that ability to rock those masculine cargo pants and made them look downright sexy. HOW DO THEY DO IT?! Sarah Michelle Gellar, ex Buffy star is also in loose cargo pants. Looking pretty stellar right, casual yet chic. Yet this piece of clothing looks like a potato sack on us normal human beings. I don't get it. Advancing from the usual cargo pants, stars are now embracing the SKINNY CARGO PANTS. I know. It's oxymoronic. The word cargo meant spacious already. So skinny cargo = skinny spacious HAHAHA! Blake Lively in the abovementioned oxymoronic pants LOL. Actually, she looks pretty good in them. But I think the deal clincher is those heels. Without those heels, the whole look would prolly fall apart. Charlize Theron is also wearing them. But I think Blake Lively looks better in them. Essentially I think skinny cargo pants are not very pretty. The usual cargo pants looks better. But it's damn difficult to pull off, unless we look like Jennifer Lawrence, Evangeline Lilly, Kelly Monaco or even Sarah Michelle Gellar. Hollywood!!! Why you give us the false impressions that we can pull off cargo pants like the above mentioned pretty ladies too?!?!??! Depressed only.. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 | 4:24 pm | 0 comments
I like noodles! But because they're difficult to digest, I can't have them very often. \But when I do, I turn to.. KOKA PURPLE WHEAT NOODLES! The pioneer batch of purple noodles were plain, no seasoning just noodles. It's really healthy because instead of deep frying, the purple noodles were steamed and baked. No seasonings included means I can make my own sauce, a much healthier option. But this new batch of noodles comes in exciting exotic flavours!! Mum bought 2 packets - Soy and Vinegar, Aglio Oilo! The Aglio Olio tasted awesome, but no pictures because I was starving. Had a little more time when I cooked Soy and Vinegar flavour, so here are the pictures! It's really easy to make. Step 1: Cook noodles for 3 - 4 mins in boiling water Step 2: Rinse in cold water Step 3: Mix seasonings with 5 tablespoons warm water Step 4: Mix with noodles and enjoy! I had some furikake from Daiso, so I sprinkled some on top to spice it up a bit further. The noodles were springy, and the seasoning tasted good. I would have added some sesame oil to it, but I couldn't find it. Maybe next time! Yummm I love purple noodles, they have another new flavour, I think it's tom yum or something. Hehh hehh, will try that out next! Tuesday, April 17, 2012 | 6:15 pm | 0 comments
Have you gone to a water park, a water park, a water park Have you gone to a water park, all day long ~~ Yes siree I have been to a water park, all day longgggg ~ ! Sunway Lagoon was awesome, as I recall the wave pool was hugeeeeeeee. You can literally lounge anywhere without worrying about colliding with others. Love the slides too, open top water slides ftw! Wild Wild Wet was okayyyy, not really worth the money. The ticket costs an arm and leg, and when you go in, blahh.. The lazy pool is a tunnel-like pool that snakes around the park, but its so squeezy and tiny that we kept bumping into others. No fun at all. I guess the skyrider thingy is a pretty cool thing to try, but the pedals were scorching hotttt and you can't stop pedalling cuz there are people behind you!! Talk about major stress, especially when you're stuck up high. Well.. in these kinda weather, I think it's high time we make a trip to a water park. Or maybe, a pool. Stir Fried Bee Hoon Grandma's signature white bee hoon!!! The vermicelli is springy but not oily, topped with a generous amount of veggie carrots and succulent sliced mushrooms.
