Come and help me clear my room? :)

Baking baking baking!
Haven't got down to baking for a longgggg time and I got quite out of touch, but thankfully these cookies still turned out awesome!
I added in a healthy dosage (lots and lots) of chocolate chips to further enhance the chocolatey taste.
They are baked to a golden brown, you get slightly melty gooey chocolate chips at the top of the cookies. Yum.
I popped one fresh out of the oven and couldn't stop!
Nothing screams comforting as warm, gooey chocolate chip cookies!

I was struck with a salad craving the moment I laid eyes on this picture of a beautiful bowl of greens my friend took when she went rabbit food scavenging. I made a lot of noise about wanting to go, so off we go together on this day! Vegetables!!
At The Green Bar, you can choose from a menu of their pre-mixed salad combinations or you can choose to be adventurous and DIY your own salad bowl.
The foodie partner decided to be adventurous and chose to DIY.
For $7.90, you can create your own salad with either 6 main toppings or 4 main toppings and 1 carbo load.
If you don't think that's enough to satisfy your tummy, you can always add on other items.
Oh, when you DIY, you get to choose your own salad dressing too! How exciting!
The partner chose the latter, and she had a mixture of broccoli, sweet corn, crisp greens, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, grilled chicken and chilli crab farfalle. The salad is topped with shavings of freshly grated parmesan, a drizzle of lemon and olive oil.
I picked their signature salad design - Smoked Duck Surprise ($11.90)
The salad came in a really rustic wooden bowl, laden with smoked duck with roasted pumpkin and rosemary potatoes on a bed of crisp greens drizzled with vinaigrette and olive oil, and a dash of freshly grated parmesan. I also opted for an additional carbo load of pesto fusilli. Oh yum yum in my tummy.. just the sound of it is making my stomach growl.
The greens were really fresh and crisp, smoked duck slices were huge. The roasted pumpkin tasted mildly sweet and the rosemary potatoes were slightly charred on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside. The pesto fusilli added a nice touch of chewiness to the whole salad. The portions were really generous, and the salad dressing really brought the flavour to a whole new level.
Although eating healthy is a rather pricey choice in Singapore, I think The Green Bar has captured my heart and I would willingly go back for more of their green goodness.
Verdict: 4/5

June!
My much anticipated and awaited holidays!
The parents flew to Las Vegas and stopped over at Japan for transit.
The above picture happened.
Happiness ensued. Hahaha!
The buddy is back home and he brought back the books I ordered.
$32 for 4 books is a very good deal! Everything in Singapore is sorely and annoyingly overpriced.
I got some awesome souvenirs too! Check out that gorgeous Santorini magnet! Buddy knows me best.

Me day with assam laksa to satisfy my craving, this was good but not fantastic.
Boo.. but it satisfied the craving somewhat.
Now I need to go get some authentic Penang food!
June is happening because I decide to cut my hair.
Goodbye long locks, so annoyingly hard to wash!
Eggs are a constant feature in my monthly adventures, I try to cook a few times a month so I don't go crazy from the stress.
Went for a short Bintan getaway and I brought the birdpark along!
Look at them all snuggled up in my bed.
What a life..
It's as much a vacation for me as much as for the birds.
Exploring and walking around the resort can get a little boring when the sun is beating down on you.
Hence I took George along, so that he can bask in the sun as well. (Also to keep me occupied.)
We were struck with a need to settle the craving for omurice so off we go to Liang Court in search of some eggy goodness.
Stopped by Dulcet and Studios for a little pudding fix, I simply tax everyone's dessert because taxing is more fun than getting your own pudding. Milk tea pudding is so amazinggggggg. Why are Japanese puddings so so so melt-in-your-mouth silky smooth?!?
I think I have found my new favourite pair of dressy shorts.
Most awesome indeed.
Mr Bean says "time flies when you enjoy." Indeed.
I really really really don't want my holidays to end.
Sigh.
