I've wanted to try Saveur for the longest time, ever since they opened and I saw that they have a pretty interesting menu at a very budget price tag! Got the chance to when I met up with my very awesome girls from school to catch up with one another! Of course we add yummy food to the mix, good food and good company! Life is awesomeeeeee!
SAVEUR'S PASTA
A signature of Saveur's, pasta tossed with chilli oil, fine-chopped Japanese konbu
& sakura ebi with minced pork sauce
The dish is so beautiful it deserves two pictures!
Can you believe an appetizer actually tastes sooooo awesome that I think they should just make it a bigger portion and turn it into a main dish. The sauce combined with the chilli oil, sakura ebi and konbu is just amazinggggggg. Fireworks exploding inside your mouth, I guarantee this dish will wow you.
SEA BASS
Pan-seared sea bass, saute potato with crabmeat, french beans & caper vinagrette
Fish fish fish, because I love fish!
The sea bass is very very fresh and there's no hint of fishy smell that usually indicates the ingredient isn't fresh. I love the saute potato cubes that complements the light flavour of the fish perfectly.
DUCK LEG CONFIT
Homemade mashed potato, sauteed shitake mushroom,
orange segments & orange infused natural jus
Usually I balk at mashed potatoes but to my surprise this tasted really good! The sauteed mushrroms were juicy and flavourful and the duck leg wasn't too tough. The downside is that it can get a tad too salty but I think if consumed with the mashed potato, the saltiness will get balanced out fine.
Verdict: 4/5
Yum yum in my tummy! Definitely value for money, I'll definitely be back again!
